Legends is headquartered in Owensboro, KY and has been in business since 2002. In November of 2009, John Moore purchased Legends with the vision of creating a regional company that would not only continue to serve our soccer players and team sales customers, but would deliver a unique retail experience.

The all new Outfitters of Active People Store was opened in February 2011.   The focus of the store is providing active people of all fitness levels and interests; apparel, footwear, and accessories.  In the first year of business Legends quickly became the go to place for active people all over Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana.  In addition to the retail store, thenextlegend.com has now sold products to customers in every US state.

We invite you to stop in and experience it for yourself at 325 Park Plaza Drive Owensboro, KY 42301.  You can also reach us by phone at 270-684-9600

Legends Management Team

John Moore – entrepreneur and fitness freak; these two great qualities give John a unique perspective on how to run a fast paced and fun-filled operation. Legends combines three of his passions, family, fitness and fun and gives him an opportunity to bring Western Kentucky the coolest-newest items in form, function and fashion. John truly loves this business and his enthusiasm is unparalleled.

Wes Carter -team player best describes Wes. It’s perfect that he should be our Team Sales Manager. Wes has helped grow Legends significantly over the years and his relationships with local coaches and business people put our screen printing and team sales operation on the map. Wes is a true asset and is at the core of what makes Legends successful.

Mitchell Sims -joined the Legends team in January 2012 to build our regional team sales business.  As a high school baseball coach, Mitchell appreciates the demands placed on coaches so his focus is on handling all the uniform, equipment and fanwear needs for coaches, players, parents, and other interested parties so the coaches and teams can focus on playing the game.   In addition, as a father of five boys Mitchell has his own basketball team at home.

Suzanne Holt – knows more about shoes and running than anyone at Legends. She’s a former runner for her college alma-mater and even did a brief stint at the Nike’s mother ship in Oregon. We’re glad to have Suzanne to answer the tough questions… and to set a solid pace. She gets out with our run classes as often as she can.

Maggie Ramburger-is a person you want on your team. She knows the business, operations and accounting side of our business like no one else. Maggie’s devotion to family, attention to detail and service make a difference for our team and our customers every day.

David Higdon- “Good Catholic Boy” best describes David. He’s a former altar boy and current Parish Council Member. David’s rolodex is perhaps the most valuable asset Legends has… David sees everything first. We’re pretty nice to him because he makes sure we get what we need in a timely manner. His dedication to sports and family are at the core of what Legends holds dear.

Jennifer Applegate-is one of the newest members of our management team.  When interviewing for the Production Manager position Jennifer had the job the minute she told Wes and John she would sometimes just go stare at her old printing equipment she loved it so much.  Her passion for the job and her work is reflected in the quality of her products.  Jennifer knows how to get it done efficiently and get it right.

Jennifer Colburn-it is her job to make sure orders get done, get done right, and get shipped. In reality she does a lot more than that. She helps input inventory data, receive inventory, record payables, and whatever else anybody gets behind on.  Though Jennifer is not one to speak up, her efforts and results speak loud enough.

Ryan Engineer- is the newest member of our team. Ryan brings the experience and contacts of a collegiate athlete. His enthusiasm and fresh perspective are a welcome addition to our team. We expect great things from Ryan… and so far he has not disappointed.
